1/1/2024 0 Comments Concrete deck blocks costIf you're looking for a more robust and reliable alternative to deck blocks, helical piers (piles) are worth considering. The Marvelous Alternative: Helical Piers (Piles): Weight limitations: Deck blocks have weight restrictions, which means they may not be suitable for larger, heavier decks that require more robust support or if you are planning to add other structures to it later, like a pergola or a sunroom. This movement can result in an uneven and unstable deck. Vulnerability to frost heave: In regions with freezing temperatures, deck blocks can be susceptible to frost heave, where the ground expands and contracts due to freezing and thawing cycles. This can lead to an unstable foundation and potential issues down the line. Limited stability: Deck blocks rely on the ground's natural stability, which may be compromised in areas with shifting soil or poor drainage. However, it's important to note that over time, the stability of the foundation may experience shifts. Versatile: At first glance, it may seem like a great feature that deck blocks can be used on various terrains, including uneven surfaces.DIY: Those who want to install their own foundation, deck blocks are relatively straightforward, but it may not be the most reliable option for the stability and levelness of the deck.Cost: Deck blocks are a slightly more affordable foundation solution upfront. They are placed on the ground, and the deck posts or framing are then attached to them.īut wait! Before you jump aboard the deck block bandwagon, let's weigh the pros and cons: These precast concrete blocks are designed to support the weight of a deck by evenly distributing the load over a larger surface area. Deck blocks, also referred to as concrete pier blocks, have gained popularity among DIY enthusiasts due to their simplicity and affordability.

1/1/2024 0 Comments Does spiral aloe grow in slcThe ornamental value of Spiral Aloe is very high, and usually only seeds can be obtained through sowing and manual intervention to destroy the growth point. Therefore, the price of Spiral Aloe seed is one of the most expensive among almost all plants. Spiral Aloe is native to the Kingdom of Lesotho in southeast Africa, covering an area of only 30,000 square kilometers, and it is a unique Aloe species in Drakensberg.Spiral Aloe is the rarest alpine aloe in the world. It is cultivated all over the world and in China. Spiral Aloe grows on the grassland of 2000-2500 meters above sea level, and even on the slopes of higher altitude areas.A loose rock in a rock fissure of basalt that grows on steep slopes, often in lesotho's cloud belt. The soil in the growing areas is well drained and there is plenty of summer rain.Because of the cold climate of the mountain regions, the leafy Spiral Aloe plants usually grow on the east side of the mountain slopes so that the plants can get as much sunlight as possible during the winter months. The Spiral Aloe can withstand winter snowfall. To preserve good drainage, in natural conditions it is generally rooted in loose basalt fractures on steep slopes. In lesotho, where the species is native, populations of leafy aloe vera are often located in the mist and cloud zones of humid mountains.Although Spiral Aloe requires well-drained soil, it also requires a moist environment.High elevations tend to have high rainfall and are moist and cool, making it ideal for Spiral Aloe. The flowers are red to pink and sometimes yellow. The capitate is branchlike, end of each branch with a flower, flowers compact, flowering spring to early summer. The flowers are magnificent and beautiful, 60 cm high. Mature Spiral Aloe grow flower stems at the top of branches. Spiral Aloe is a kind of stemless poly plasma plant. Each plant is a single rosette, up to 30 cm in diameter and 90 cm in width.Leaves are spiral rosettes, emerald green to gray-green, soft, succulent and thick. The leaf base is broad, tapering to acuminate, black, margin irregularly serrate.Unlike the usual aloe vera, the leaves of Spiral Aloe are arranged in a triangular, perfectly helical pattern, in the shape of a round basin. The first few leaves rise in a straight line, and around the seventh, they begin to take the shape of a spiral, which must be at least 20 centimeters in diameter at the beginning. There are 5 rows of leaves in the initial spiral formation, about 15-30 leaves in each row, and 130-150 leaves in each plant after forming. The helix is sometimes clockwise and sometimes counterclockwise. This species has a very long life, and it is said that the plant can survive for more than 50 years.Native to the kingdom of Lesotho, which covers an area of 30,000 square kilometers in southeast Africa, aloe vera is the rarest alpine aloe in the world. Artificial planting adopts techniques such as seedling transplanting or cutting for asexual propagation, and prefers the environment with great temperature difference between day and night. Spiral Aloe grows on the grassland of 2000-2500 meters above sea level, and even on the slopes of higher altitude areas. The plant does not grow slowly when it becomes a plant, but because it has a strong terminal bud advantage, it almost does not produce a plant under natural conditions, and its flowers are very spectacular and beautiful, flowering conditions are relatively strict, in the original place only in a special climate, when the climate is not suitable for years, or even many years do not bloom.Because of its high ornamental value, it is cultivated in many parts of the world and In China. 1/1/2024 0 Comments Os x yosemite dmgFor more details and documentation navigate to /EFI/CLOVER/doc. The way things are setup the APC40 works almost 99%, including the auto-magic 8 knob controllers on the focused DSP, faders, etc. What is it specifically that is broken? The buttons don’t work, I guess I should have been more specific when I said works flawless I never use those buttons, only the knobs and the transport controls. I have an older version, SL61, not the first RemoteSL, but the 2nd gen, SL61, not the mk2. For some reason, you can’t edit nor import TouchOSC templates to that platform).Īssuming that the iPad version of TouchOSC comes with a set of templates made specifically for that device, does anyone knows where it’s possible to pick up these files?ĭanoise, my working let me try and understand. It wouldn’t be hard to make, but for some reason the TouchOSC editor doesn’t come with the iPad templates (except one called “Mix 2 iPad”), and I would like to base any standard Duplex configuration around those (as they are accessible to Android users as well. TouchOSC on iPad is possible, but so far we’ve not made any configurations for it. But perhaps this is not an issue with your device, being a different model and all? Hey grymmjack, thanks for the kind words!!Ī while back, I received some feedback that a few controls didn’t work in SL 25 mk1 (namely, buttons beneath the faders). …and because “sync” really means “both ways”, it would also mean that activating a specific configuration should switch to a particular view in Renoise. We have no semantics to tell us this.īut I guess it could be set up manually, if the SwitchConfig application was expanded with these options: But since each configuration can be made up from multiple individual applications, it’s not easy to decide if a given configuration is valid for a given view (mixer, pattern etc). I can see your point - an even closer integration with Renoise. Is it possible that Duplex auto-switches configurations for effect, mixer, transport and so on? I mean if I click on the “mixer” tab in Renoise, could duplex autoload the mixer config and if I click on the “pattern editor” tab, Duplex could load the “effect” config?. 12/31/2023 0 Comments Colt anaconda 4 inchI am the same way with my collection of firearms - they get used like they are supposed to. I rode for many years - year 'round - regardless of weather (except ice/snow - but have been known to get caught in that, too). They were leaving the 'Beamer parked outside of town so they could ride their Harley into town. There was a late 20 something blonde putting on 'leathers - while a young guy backed a Harley out of the trailer. There was a guy with a white BMW convertible with a box trailer hooked to it. Short story: Took the wife and kids up North on vacation years ago. Rich Yuppies did the same thing to Harley-Davidson that they are doing with the Colt 'Snake Guns' - making a good product too expensive for REAL users to own. People are paying down-right insane prices for these today, so you could take advantage of the Yuppie Craze and make a huge profit off of it. If you don't like the full-power loads - just shoot. It's already been used some - so shooting it won't harm the value. Shoot the suckers!!Įither shoot it or trade/sell it. Relegating them to investments or art is a waste. I shoot mine and I'd shoot a Python if I had one. They are probably significantly less valuable then a Colt Python. I have no idea how many were made but I suspect they might have been one of the less popular models at the time mostly because of the elevated prices. My notes of the time indicated their availability was limited and spotty immediately there after. Mine is a 6 inch barrel Stainless Steel version bought in 1993 during one of Colt's bankruptcy periods. It is an excellent gun with excellent fit and finish and is accurate. My point is it is not extremely valuable and should be used. It is Colt, though, and some collectors place extra value on any gun Colt produced. I suspect collectors would shun it as it is not a true snake gun. Has a colt box but no papers or tags denoting it is the original box. 4 inch ventilated rib barrel and original colt pacmyar grips. It uses the trigger action design from a later lesser gun using coil springs. Colt Anaconda (4 in, box) Description: Its always exciting to get in an anaconda, but a 4 inch anaconda Wow This stainless 44 magnum features target sights, hammer, and trigger. The Anaconda is not in the same gun family. I am not a Colt expert but as I understand it, and correct me if I am wrong, the earlier snake guns were based on the Python with flat springs and a different trigger mechanism that gave the Python its reputation for a wonderful double action pull. The Colt "Snake Guns" are valuable and collectable. 12/31/2023 0 Comments Spinal transverse processThe pedicles are short thick processes that extend, one from each side, posteriorly, from the junctions of the posteriolateral surfaces of the centrum, on its upper surface. Written in the style of Native American legend, the popular work contained notes by Henry R. Sannillac, a Wyandot leader, was the subject of an 1831 narrative poem by Henry Whiting. Maiden Arch was renamed Sannillac Arch in 1916, by author Frank O’Brien, in his booklet Names of Places of Interest on Mackinac Island, Michigan. It is directly under the high cliff, or promenade which extends out into the lake, that tourists walk out upon while viewing the Arch Rock… Two hundred dollars would pay the expense of a winding stairway, down through the principal arch, then under the lower one, and extending to the lake, which would be the most picturesque scene on the island.” “From we followed the beach north to the foot of Arch Rock… There we discovered an interesting arch, which is not on the program, but is more wonderful, and will exist for ages after the renowned arch has crumbled and gone. Victorian era tourists explore Maiden Arch. That year, a visitor named “M.A.” described Maiden Arch in a small volume entitled, Eight Days Out. When Mackinac National Park was dissolved in 1895, the island’s arches became part of the newly created Mackinac Island State Park. Foley in 1887, entitled “ Maiden Arch, Under Arch Rock.” For many visitors, this smaller formation was easier to explore from the lakeshore rather than risking a steep hillside climb to view Arch Rock from above. A similar view was published by Mackinac Island photographer Edward P. His view, entitled, “Lower Arch to Natural Bridge” is one of the earliest known photos of this formation. Jenney, of Flint, Michigan printed a series of Picturesque – Mackinaw stereoview cards. Once much larger, this small arch has been known through the years as the Lower Arch, Little Arch, Maiden Arch and Sannillac Arch. Near the base of this cliff is a small, tunnel like arch, which is now nearly filled with rocky debris. One half of Arch Rock rests on a large pinnacle of Mackinac breccia limestone that towers 130 feet above Lake Huron. Men explore the “Lower Arch” in this view by photographer James A. A 1918 guidebook noted, “ To visit Mackinac Island and fail to climb the Giant’s Stairway and view this beautiful handiwork of nature, is to miss one of the leading features of the “Fairy Isle.” From the shore, visitors were encouraged to climb huge limestone ledges, like giant steps, to explore this natural wonder. “A little north and beyond a high pinnacle of rude rock crops out from the mountain side, near the base of which is a very picturesque arch, known as the ‘Fairy Arch,’ or Arch of the ‘Giant’s Stairway.’ This spot is rather difficult of access owing to the presence of huge rocks and an entangled forest.”įairy Arch became more accessible about 1900, when a boulevard completely encircling Mackinac Island was completed. In an 1875 guidebook for visitors of the newly created Mackinac National Park, publisher John Disturnell noted Fairy Arch was about ¼ mile from Arch Rock. In 1872, Constance Fenimore Woolson wrote, “Fairy Arch is of similar formation to Arched Rock, and lifts from the sands with a grace and beauty that justify the name bestowed upon it.” Despite challenging access, the lovely arch appeared on 19 th century maps and in guidebooks. Bailey rediscovered the 40-foot formation and coined the name Fairy Arch. For most of the 19 th century, Mackinac’s eastern shoreline was difficult to explore, covered by huge boulders and thick vegetation.
